It's been nearly three years since Coldplay released Music of the Spheres, but it looks like fans won't have to wait too much longer for new music. On Friday (June 7), the band shared a teaser on Instagram for a new single that is thought to be called "First Time." The video shows Chris Martin standing on the Santa Monica Pier in California at night while the ferris wheel spins behind him. The clip was filmed in time-lapse so it looks sped up; however, the music plays in real time as Martin sings “It feels like I’m falling in love / You’re throwing me a lifeline / Oh, now for the first time / I know we’re not alone.” The snippet is simply captioned with "first time," and the band has yet to give any more details.

See Coldplay's post below.

In December 2022, Martin revealed Coldplay was in the studio working on an album called Moon Music, and it might be the band's last. In 2021, Martin divulged that he planned to stop putting out music with Coldplay in 2025. “Well I know I can tell you: our last proper record will come out in 2025 and after that I think we will only tour,” he said at the time. “Maybe we’ll do some collaborative things but the Coldplay catalogue, as it were, finishes then.”

If Moon Music comes out this year, it's possible the band has one more project in the works. We'll just have to wait and see.
