Woman Wears Buzz Lightyear Helmet to Supermarket Bc She Had No Masks

Now that many places in the US are rolling out requirements to wear face coverings while inside essential businesses, a set of guidelines to make your own was shared due to the shortages of traditional face masks. And people have gotten creative in how they are protecting themselves and others in public.

Kelly Hogan Painter of North Carolina was in a pinch because she needed to get to the grocery store to buy food and provisions for her husband and kids. With no face masks left at home and no time to fashion a face covering out of some sort of cloth, Kelly improvised.

She took one of her kids' Buzz Lightyear helmet from the Toy Story movies, and it fit her head like a charm.

“So when your husband bets you…. Well first he tells you that you can’t go to the store without a mask, and then you tell him that it was recommended and not necessary, and then he tells you you can’t go get food for your kids because we have no masks in the house…. So you supply the mask,” Painter says right before she enters the store.

Apparently people in the store loved the idea and one person even wanted to take a photo with her... hopefully by standing 6 feet away from her.
