Some Incoming Virginia Tech Freshmen Will Board at a Holiday Inn Express

A high amount of enrollment to Virginia Tech University has lead the school to seek alternate options to house incoming students for the fall 2019 semester. That means about 195 students could end up boarding at a nearby Holiday Inn Express.

According to the report, Virginia Tech expected around 6,600 freshmen students to come in the fall but believes around 1,000 more students may attend.

The University added around 500 more beds on campus and is looking for 500 additional beds to accommodate for the students. Around 195 of the students would end up at a Holiday Inn Express, which the school is reportedly in discussion to lease for the academic year.

The university says it will "organize the hotel like any other residence hall, with resident assistants and first-year programming."
