You remember when swing was a thing in alternative rock?
This was the late 90s when (I guess) we were all "rock'ed out" because of all the grunge so everyone started looking to the next big thing. We settled on swing music which allowed bands like Squirrel Nut Zippers, Cherry Poppin' Daddies, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy (we loved "Dads" apparently), and Brian Setzer Orchestra to have a run on rock radio.
And oh what a run it was.
Actually, it wasn't much of a run. Maybe about 10 months before we realized that swing lessons were hard so we moved on to Electronica as the next "big thing" in rock.
Ah, the 90s.
