This isn't a shock but due to the colder than normal temps in the DMV the last few weeks, the National Park Service has pushed back the peak of cherry blossoms in the area one week.
Orginially, the peak was March 17th-20th but that's been adjusted to March 27th-31st.
Now, let's look at the positives of that.
For a lot of DMV schools, the new peak comes during spring break which means more people can get to the Tidal Basin and enjoy the scenery.
It's also Easter weekend which should lead to some beautiful photos of you, your Easter bonnet, and the cherry blossoms.
