Oh man. How did this get past the proofreaders!
Adidas is the official sponsor of the Boston Marathon so it makes sense that they would email all the participants post-race. Their choice of words, though, were beyond tone deaf as they congratulated the runners for "surviving" the race.
In light of what happened at the marathon in 2013, the lightheaded email came off...uncomfortable, to say the least.
To Adidas' credit, they quickly apologized for the language.
