Walk for Suicide Prevention; Join Team One More Light

Our Story

The mission continues for DC101 + Leidos’ Team One More Light: to do everything we can to raise awareness and help in the fight to #StopSuicide. As the team captain, I’d like to thank everyone who has walked with us at any point over the past 9 years and welcome all our new members! It’s so important to keep the conversation going about mental health and how much it means to our well-being. Every part of that means so much and makes such a difference to so many. Thank you for your support and involvement!

Leidos is an innovation company rapidly addressing the world’s most vexing challenges. The company has a deep legacy of engaging its employees and communities on important issues and has prioritized addressing the various challenges surrounding mental health. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), untreated mental disorders now account for more than 10 percent of the total global burden of all disease and, by 2030, depression alone will be the leading cause of disability around the world. Leidos is proud to continue its partnership with Team One More Light to help fight the stigma associated with mental health and suicide.

Thank you for joining DC101 + Leidos for the 2025 Washington, D.C. Out of the Darkness Walk in support of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) mission to save lives and bring hope to those affected by suicide. Funds raised will help AFSP create a culture that is smart about mental health through vital research, educational and community programs, advocacy, and support for survivors of suicide loss.

Our team goal this year is $100,000, but I know that we can go well beyond that. We did in 2024, raising almost $200,000 and that made DC101 + Leidos' Team One More Light the top fundraising team in the country! I can't say thank you enough to everyone that helped to make that happen. That will go so far to help AFSP and it made me so proud to get that news. Let's do it again this year!!!
