No doubt about it, Inglorious Basterds is one of Quentin Tarantino's best movies. Can you imagine Adam Sandler in it?!

Tarantino was just on Bill Maher's Club Random podcast with Judd Apatow and confirmed a long standing rumor that the role of “The Bear Jew” Sergeant Donny Donowitz was originally written for Adam Sandler. It never happened because Sandler was working on Funny People but the idea of the part in Inglorious Basterds went back years.

Tarantino said, "I wrote the Bear Jew for Adam Sandler. When I was doing ‘Little Nicky,’ he’s telling me like, “Oh man, I get to f**king beat up Nazis with a bat? F**king script! F**king awesome! I can’t f**king wait! I can’t f**king wait!” He was like telling every Jewish guy, “I’m going to f**king play this guy who beats up Nazis with a f**king bat.”

In the end, Eli Roth got the role and did a tremendous job. I just wonder what would have happened with The Sandman in Inglorious Basterds?
