After Oasis, everyone wondered what would happen with Liam Gallagher? He had a run with a his band Beady Eye, but that didn't go as well as he hoped. From there, it was a focus on being a solo act and for a few years now, it's been a build up showing that Liam is always meant to be a shining superstar!
The new documentary just debuted yesterday, Knebworth 22, and it was a fantastic film. I saw it last night and loved it because there were so many parts to it. Liam telling his story, why playing at Knebworth this year was as important to him as it was when Oasis performed there in 1996. Fans young and old talking about why they had to be at the shows. What made them fans. Why they love Liam and what he represents. And of course a lot of great concert footage!
Even though there weren't any Oasis songs in the film because Noel Gallagher blocked it from happening, I don't think it took anything away from the movie. In fact, the Oasis documentary Knebworth 1996 gave us plenty and this movie should have and did focus on Liam. The movie also made me feel happy for everyone that got to attend the shows, the same happiness I felt when I went to my first concert back from COVID. That joy of everyone being together really came through with the movie.
Congratulations to Liam Gallagher on the film. It's a really fun watch and I can't recommend it enough. If you didn't get to see Knebworth 22 in a movie theater yesterday, it's coming out on Paramount+ on December 6th!
