We've seen plenty of movie sequels that stink and Will Ferrell just wouldn't let that happen with Elf 2.
He did a great interview with The Hollywood Reporter and during it, Will revealed that he passed on big bucks to do the Elf sequel: $29 million!
Ferrell said, "I would have had to promote the movie from an honest place, which would’ve been, like, ‘Oh no, it’s not good. I just couldn’t turn down that much money.’ And I thought, ‘Can I actually say those words? I don’t think I can, so I guess I can’t do the movie."
I'm guessing that Will Ferrell is doing pretty well for himself financially, but to turn down $29 million?! Elf 2's script must have sucked!!! I don't know who of us would pass on that kind of cash!
