Playing Video Games For Two Hours = 1,000 Sit-Ups?!

Who knew that video games were actually beneficial for your health!

Stakester did a study and found that two hours of gaming for men will burn 420 calories while women will burn 472, and that's the equivalent of 1,000 sit-ups. Their researchers measured people playing FIFA and Call Of Duty: Warzone and looked at their heart rates and calories burned during the sessions.

Tom Fairey, CEO of Stakester, said, “We all know that competition gets our heart rates up and most of us have experienced the “gaming sweat” that happens when you’re searching for a last minute goal in FIFA or in a tight spot in Warzone." "It’s no surprise that this burns calories, but we are surprised to see how much is burned during a 2-hour session, it definitely beats 1000 sit ups!"

I can certainly attest to the increased heart rate during gaming. While playing Doom: Eternal last weekend and there were intense battles, I certainly noticed my heart pumping faster. This shouldn't be a substitute for exercise, but it is interesting to see these results.
