Good for Dan Reynolds for not just sitting back and being a musical punching bag!
After a recent criticism of Imagine Dragons from Slipknot's Corey Taylor where he said that they were "the worst band in the world", Dan felt compelled to say something about the hatred towards his band and others in the music industry.
Dan tweeted a message out to the world, saying that the criticisms towards his band and the Imagine Dragons community has added to the depression that he's battled in life. He also questioned if kids, even his own, will be made fun of for liking their music.
Besides Slipknot, Dan also called out The 1975, Foster The People, and The Smashing Pumpkins for things they've said in the past. You can read what he said in the tweets below. I don't see this as Dan looking for pity or sympathy. I see this as Dan saying that, even though it does effect him, it won't stop him or Imagine Dragons from doing what they're doing with music, shows and having fun their way.
The bottom line is this: if you don't like their music, you don't have to listen to it. You can move on, you can find other music, you can ignore it or you can be a part of what Imagine Dragons are doing.
