What a great thing to do in honor of Chris Cornell! Today would have been his 53rd birthday and in his memory, the Seattle non-profit Childhaven and Vicki Cornell have announced a partnership. "The Chris Cornell Music Therapy Program at Childhaven" is a program that will use music to help children who gave gone through trauma. $100,000 has been pledged from The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation to get the program started.
In a statement, Vicki Cornell said:
"The Chris and Vicky Cornell Foundation is excited to join Childhaven to support its extraordinary work impacting the lives of those in need. Chris and I always shared a strong belief in the healing and inspiring power of music, and through Childhaven's establishment of this program, we are able to keep the promise for Chris by continuing to protect the world's most vulnerable children."
