D.C. is Dave Grohl's hometown so of course he would say yes to playing the very first show at a brand new venue!
On October 12th, the Foo Fighters will be performing at The Anthem, a new venue at the D.C. waterfront. Grohl told Billboard that it was a no-brainer for his band to play there.
"The new place is set to become the number one venue in America, I s**t you not. It has the illusion of a stadium, but the intimacy of a nightclub. It's perfect.”
The Anthem will seat between 2,500 and 6,000 people, depending on the show and the configuration of the seating for the performance. Tickets for the show will go on sale on Friday morning through Ticketfly.com.
