The NFL Playoffs are upon is and the home team I root for is not in. Oh Washington!
With that said, I have found a team whom I will be rooting for in this year's playoffs; the Buffalo Bills! They ended a 17 year drought of making the playoffs with a little help from the Cincinnati Bengals. The Bills went 9-7 but that extra bit of help from the Bengals to eliminate the Baltimore Ravens is what Buffalo needed to solidify their spot as the sixth seed in this year's postseason.
What is truly making me root for Buffalo is their fans. In appreciation of Cincinnati eliminating the Ravens, the Bills fans sent donations in increments of $17 to Bengals quarterback Andy Dalton's foundation which provides support and resources to seriously ill and physically challenged children and their families in the Ft. Worth and Cincinnati areas. These donations totaled over $57,000 In addition, the wide receiver who caught the touchdown which allowed the Bengals to win saw donations to his youth football league meet their goal of $20,000
Bills fans are known for jumping through tables and epic pre-game celebrations which have gotten a different kind of attention on the social media. But they are also a fanbase who are more loyal to their team than any other in the league. Browns fans might give them a run for that but for this postseason, this football fan will direct his cheering for the Buffalo Bills.
Go Bills Go!
