From the "This team can't get anything right" Department...
After having 2 years to come up with a new name, the Washington Football Team finally settled on Commanders.
But now, after less than a month, they have already changed their logo.
Originally, the crest of the new Commanders had the years the team won the Super Bowl in the past. The only problem is, 3 of them (1984, 1988, and 1992) were the year they PLAYED in the game, NOT the years of the season they played in.
Though technically, the team did win the Super Bowls in the years listed, it’s widely accepted that the year that designates the titles is the year in which the season started if it’s not displayed with both years.
After persistent fan backlash, the team announced that they have changed the logo in order to reflect their wishes.
