Comedian and actor Louie Anderson is dead. He was 68-years-old and had been battling blood cancer. Fellow comedian Pauly Shore wrote on Twitter yesterday that he said his goodbyes to Anderson at a Las Vegas hospital.
The Baskets star passed away in Las Vegas Friday morning, where he had entered hospital earlier this week for treatment of diffuse large B cell lymphoma, a form of cancer, his longtime publicist Glenn Schwartz told Deadline.
Making his late night debut on November 20, 1984 in front of Johnny Carson onThe Tonight Show,the actor had half a dozen solo stand-up specials over the years, most recently 2018’sLouie Anderson: Big Underwear.
He also made appearances in Coming to America and hosted Family Fued.
