A golden retriever that went missing more than two weeks ago has been found -- doggy-paddling in the middle of a New Jersey bay.
The 3-year-old dog, named Chunk, had been missing from its home in Brick, New Jersey since June 6th, authorities say. Owner Marie Zangara says her family had all but given up hope. "Your mind starts to think, did he get hit by a car, in the woods dying?" she says.
Fast-forward to Tuesday: After bystanders reported seeing a dog jump into Barnegat Bay, New Jersey State Police sent troopers out via boat to investigate. They spotted Chunk in the water near the Mantoloking Bridge, according to Trooper Ryan Koehler. Besides being "covered in ticks," Chunk is fine and has been reunited with its family, Koehler says.
