Electronic Arts -- the video game maker responsible for The Sims, Madden NFL and NBA Live, among others -- is looking into a breach in which hackers broke into its system and stole game codes and other related tools.
Players' personal data was not compromised during the breach, according to EA officials. "We have no reason to believe there is any risk to player privacy,” reads a statement from the Florida-based company. "Following the incident, we’ve already made security improvements and do not expect an impact on our games or our business."
Director of Communications Lacey Haines says EA officials are "working with law enforcement officials and other experts" in an effort to track down the hackers.
