Melinda Gates has already received a payday after filing divorce documents.
Bill Gates’ investment firm, Cascade Investment LLC, transferred over 14 million shares of Canadian National Railway Co. and 2.9 million shares of AutoNation Inc.
The shares are worth $1.8 million and will come in handy as the couple didn’t have a prenup, Bill and Melinda did sign a separation agreement ahead of the divorce announcement.
The stock transfer makes Melinda a billionaire and is the beginning of the couple dividing their assets.
