Marvel is introducing a new Captain America for a new comic book series titled "The United States of Captain America."
In the series, four past Captain America heroes, Sam Wilson, John Walker, Bucky Barnes, and Steve Rogers set out on a mission to find Captain America's stolen shield and during the adventure, they meet a local Captain America of the past named Aaron Fisher.
"I really enjoyed designing him, and as a transgender person, I am happy to present an openly gay person who admires Captain America and fights against evil to help those invisible to society," said character designer Jan Balduza.
“Aaron is inspired by heroes of the queer community: activists, leaders, and everyday folks pushing for a better life,” says a press release. “He stands for the oppressed, and the forgotten. I hope his debut story resonates with readers, and helps inspire the next generation of heroes.”
Comic book fans get ready, the first series of the series comes out on June 2.
