A Missouri pastor is on leave and "seeking professional counseling" after a video surfaced of him preaching that wives need to be thin, wear makeup, and dress well to keep their husbands from cheating.
First General Baptist Church Pastor Stewart-Allen Clark said in the sermon, "I'm not saying every woman can be the epic trophy wife of all time, like Melania Trump. Maybe you're just a participation trophy. But you don't need to look like a butch either."
Clark added, "Sweatpants don't cut it all the time. Men want their women to look good at home and in public. Can I get an amen?"
General Baptist Ministries, which the church is affiliated with, posted on Facebook that Mr. Clark's sermon "included comments that are not consistent with the positions and values of General Baptists."
