As if the wildfires that are currently wreaking havoc on Australia aren't scary enough, one resident has taken a photo that gives an evil face to the blaze. And it looks a whole lot like the face of the Devil himself.
The photo, taken by Victoria farmer Craig Calvert, comes just after news of the fires' 20th victim has been reported. "I'm not really into hokey pokey spooky stuff," Calvert says. "But there's a big devil face right in the fire."
Temperatures throughout much of the fire-ravaged country topped 104 degrees Friday as emergency crews fought to prevent the flames from continuing their path of destruction. About 4,000 evacuated residents of Mallacoota spent a good part of the day on the beach, waiting for two naval vessels to take them to safety. So far, more than 13 million acres of brushland have been destroyed and 1,365 homes have been reduced to ashes.
