For 35 years, Keanu Reeves has been known as an actor and, to a lesser degree, a musician. But now the 54-year-old has added "philosopher" and "viral sensation" to his list of credentials.
On Friday's episode of "The Late Show," host Stephen Colbert finished his interview with the "John Wick" star by asking, "What happens to us when we die, Keanu Reeves?" After taking a beat to ponder the question, Reeves replied in his trademark surfer drawl, "I know the ones who love us will miss us." After a moment of uncertainty passed, the audience appeared to decide the answer was profound and responded with thunderous applause.
Apparently, the people in "The Late Show's" studio audience weren't the only ones moved by Reeves' simplistic answer. A clip of the interview on Twitter quickly garnered more than six million views, while clips on YouTube have so far attracted more than two million.
Do you think Reeves' answer was deep? Did he really answer the question?
