The word "police" was put on the Laguna Beach Police Department's cop cruisers using American-flag style lettering. Now the city is debating on changing the "flag-looking" lettering after some residents said it makes the cars look too "aggressive."
One resident said that when two or more of these flag-lettered cruisers pull up at once that people could think a SWAT team is coming and could create panic. Other residents think that the design is offensive to immigrants.
Other residents don't see a problem with the lettering. A local attorney said she believes that "a police car with an American flag is the ultimate American expression."
