Lots of fans jumped on the pre-order train when it was announced that Flea would be releasing his memoirs. Only now that doesn't seem to be the case, which has angered many.
According to the Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist, Acid For The Children isn't so much a book documenting his career with the band, but more of an origin story.
Flea tells EW that he wants the book to stand on its own as more than just a rock star book, so "It ends where The Red Hot Chili Peppers begins."
As for the fans expecting tales of blood, sugar, sex and magik, they've taken to the band's subreddit to make their anger known, with one poster saying he will cancel his pre-order, while another calls the announcement, "disappointing."
What would you hope to learn about in a RHCP memoir? Would you still read the book after this announcement?
