Ford Recalls 2 Million Trucks to Address Seat-Belt Fire Concerns

If you own a Ford F-150, you'll want to pay close attention to this story. The Ford Motor Company is recalling 2 million of the F-150 model pickup trucks to address fire and smoke concerns in seat-belt pretensioners.

The company acknowledges 17 reports of smoke or fire in the United States and six in Canada relating to the issue. The good news? There have been no accidents or injuries.

The recall covers 2015-18 Ford F-150 Regular Cab and SuperCrew Cab vehicles in North America for driver and front passenger seat belt pretensioners.

Ford said some front seat belt pretensioners could generate excessive sparks when deployed, resulting possibly in a fire. Do you own one of these pickup trucks? Have you had any issues with the seat belts?
