Apparently owning a low number on a license plate is a "Delaware thing," according to John Wakefield of Delaware Tag Traders, who says people in the first state battle to snatch them.
The latest plate, bearing the number 20, sold for $410,000 at auction on Sunday.
Wakefield says the sale exceeded his expectations as the number 14 plate went for $325,000 three years ago.
A businessman named Saeed Abdul Ghafour Khouri currently holds the record for purchasing the most expensive license plate ever, grabbing Abu Dhabi's "1" for $14.3 million.
Do you own a vanity plate? What's on it? How much would you pay if someone else already owned the one you wanted?
