Ouared was in a two week customer service training program. He said he wore the bun throughout but was told it was against the dress code on the last day of training.
His supervisors gave him three choices; cut his hair, put it in a turban or wear dreadlocks. Ouared says he was fired based on discrimination and the claim that his style looked like "a girl's hair."
