According to a new survey, the most miserable state in America is West Virginia.
The Gallup-Sharecare Well-Being Index interviewed over 160,000 adults and measured sense of purpose, social responsibility, financial security, relationship to community and physical health. These results were mixed with other socioeconomic data.
The other most miserable states are Louisiana, Arkansas, Mississippi and Oklahoma.
Maryland came in at #30
Virginia was #18
Washington D.C. was not ranked.
Nationwide, the well-being of most Americans dropped from 2017 to 2018.
