An Oregon high school student who was sent home because of his Donald Trump shirt just got an apology - and a $25,000 payout.
18-year-old Addison Barnes was suspended back in January when he arrived at school in a T-shirt that read "Donald J. Trump Border Wall Construction Co". He sued, eventually reaching a settlement for $25K and a letter of apology.
Barnes says he sued to "stand up for myself and other students" who hold "right-of-center" views. The school says it was concerned that the shirt might create tension with the school's Latino students.
Did you ever get in trouble for an offensive t-shirt? Did your school ever ban specific t-shirts?
