Wolf Alice And James Bay Want To End Plastic Wrap On Records

Plastic is used to wrap and protect lots of things. Left over foods, shipped products, even stuff already made of plastic. But soon there may be one less single use plastic item in existence.

The music industry is calling for the end of using cellophane to shrink wrap albums, highlighting the amount of plastic waste in the environment.

Wolf Alice singer Ellie Rowsell points out that their CD sleeves made from cardboard and not plastic because, "What's the point? You only take it off anyway."

Singer James Bay says he hadn't thought about it at first but is now against the use of plastics with his records, saying, "They are filling up the ocean, it is doing lots and lots of damage so wherever you find these single use plastics let's try not to use them."

How have you reduced your plastic footprint? Do you bring your own bags to shop? Use a reusable water bottle? What's the most unnecessarily plastic wrapped thing you've seen?
