Your Earliest Childhood Memory Is Probably Made Up

That first memory you have of being alive is something you probably made up in your head.

40 percent of people in a study said their first memory was before they were 2-years-old. Memory researchers dispute that saying it's almost impossible for a human to remember anything before turning 2.

The researchers cite something called infantile amnesia. It's very unlikely to retain a memory at that young age.

There's a difference between declarative memory like events and things happening to us and non-declarative memory like walking and talking. They happen in different parts of the brain.

What do you think is your first memory? Do you have doubts now that you've heard this research?
