A church sign in Australia is causing a little bit of controversy.
The sign at the Anglican Church of The Holy Spirit said Sunday, "Forgiveness is swallowing when you'd rather spit." Some people's minds went straight to the gutter but the church spokesperson tried to spell it out in life-affirming terms.
The spokesperson said, "You don't open your mouth and yell at somebody, you close your mouth and swallow. If you want to say something, keep your mouth closed for a bit. Swallow it, don't spit it out." Clearly, the sexual innuendo was lost on the spokesperson.
One person who posted a selfie with the sign said that this would definitely get people into the church!
