St. Mary’s County Public Schools in Maryland is confirming that there has been a shooting at Great Mills High School.
The statement said the school, located 60 miles southeast of Washington DC, is on lockdown and the situation is contained. The Sheriff's office is currently on the scene.
A Twitter post by the school district advised parents to not report to the school but to go to nearby Leonardtown High School.
Multiple injuries have been reported according to NBC News.
