So I was watching the Die Hard series the other day and realized that Die Hard 2 took place in the DMV.
As a matter of fact, they never ACTUALLY shot anything at Dulles Airport, instead using a now closed airport in Denver and LAX in Los Angeles as stand-ins.
It made me want to see how many other movies I could find that were set or actually shot in the DC area.
Of course there are a ton of them with some of the most recognizable landmarks like the White House and Washington Monument...and they all seem to be attacked or destroyed. Weird.
It is still surreal to see those landmarks on the big screen.
