A controversy is brewing on social media over the design of Team USA's Olympic Speed Skating uniforms. The crotch pattern has been called "pervy" and "tone-deaf."
If you haven't seen the uniforms, there's a gray patch in the crotch area of the blue uniforms. It can very well be said that it is highlighting an athlete's most private area.
Both the men's and women's uniforms have the patch. The makers of the unis, Under Armour, says the patch is a friction guard to improve skater's performance and the coloring couldn't have been any different.
Whether it helps or not, social media comments about the suits have been from offended to funny.
