Apple is taking the wraps off a new iPhone feature designed to lengthen the life of older handsets, with CEO Tim Cook showing off the new function Wednesday.
It will let owners of iPhones with depleted batteries disable built-in CPU throttling.
The move is in response to Apple's admission last month that a 2016 update slowed down older iPhones to extend battery life.
Had you experienced any slowdowns with your older iPhone because of this feature? Do you plan to disable the throttling on your phone once the update has been released?
