Well, I certainly am shocked over this. While certainly not as gross as what the white striping on chicken breast is, the red stuff in your meat packaging is NOT blood.
It is actually a protein called myoglobin, according to BuzzFeed. The protein is what gives the meat and its juices a red hue, and it's perfectly normal to find in packaging.
