A lot of times on here, I like to blog about farts, boobs, food, music, sports, and the Kardashians. LOL
This time though, I want to share a personal story with you.
This is my sister, Nicole (with Supernatural star Misha Collins) and we are 22 months apart.
She suffers from Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD). It is a genetic disorder that has has made an impact on her entire life. Other family members of mine including my Grandfather (who passed away in 1985) and my Mother (thankfully, still alive after a kidney transplant) suffered from it.
Nicole went to a recent checkup and discovered her PKD has progressed further and faster than anticipated. At this time, she has lost 90% of kidney function. Her doctor has said that in 6 months or less she would need to go on dialysis. The best chance for living my life to its fullest is a living donor transplant.
I would love to share her story and potentially find a donor. I could be one, and will find out in the next couple of weeks after some tests and screenings with University of Maryland Hospital in Baltimore.
