The White House Correspondents Association issued a statement earlier this month saying they still plan on holding the dinner.
But with Trump bowing out and several news outlets deciding they won’t be holding afterparties, the status of the dinner is now up in the air.
Trump’s relationship with the media has grown increasingly fractious, have blasted them in a speech yesterday while his administration kept several outlets out of a White House press gaggle. In recent weeks, there was talk in certain sectors about whether this was the year to end the Correspondents Dinner as an annual event.
This is last year's (2016) WHCD, which was President Obama's final one.
