Chris Luchtefeld, CEO, Cape Fox Corporation

As CEO at Cape Fox Corporation, Chris is responsible for managing and operating three holding companies, nine federal subsidiaries, and four commercial companies in the Cape Fox corporate portfolio. The diverse companies in the Cape Fox portfolio provide IT, training, security, medical staffing, biosafety, occupational health, logistics, systems integration, and construction services to many Government agencies across the United States. The commercial services include the Cape Fox Lodge and a portfolio of restaurants, tours and real estate services in Ketchikan, Alaska. Chris has led Cape Fox to three straight years of revenue and profit growth which has moved Cape Fox from unranked to the 39th largest Alaska Owned Company by revenue.

Prior to Cape Fox, Chris was Vice-President of Business Development at Constellis (previously known as ACADEMI). Chris Luchtefeld led global business development, pipeline generation, opportunity marketing, and proposal operations for ACADEMI Government Services, a $600M company with global operations. Following the acquisition of two of its largest competitors, Constellis became the leader in international security services for the US Government.

Before ACADEMI, Chris was Managing Partner and Co-Owner at BID Designs, a business development, consulting services, and software solutions firm that helps firms in the Government, Aerospace, and Defense industry identify, win, and execute business. Chris led BID Designs clients to more than $2.5B in new business wins, he was elected to the Montgomery County GovConNet Council, and BID Designs was a 2-time finalist for the Huntsville, AL Chamber of Commerce Small Business of the Year.

Prior to starting BID Designs, Chris held multiple Director positions in Capture, Business Development, and Program Management at BAE Systems in Rockville, MD and Silver Spring, MD. At BAE Systems, Chris was a member of the Performance Centered Leadership (PCL) and Individual Leadership Development (ILD) programs for high potential corporate leaders and was awarded multiple Chairman’s Awards for Excellence.

Chris holds a Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Management from Purdue University and a Master’s Degree in Business Administration from Maryland’s Smith School of Business.
