Linda Houk, President & CEO of Information Systems Solutions, Inc.

Ms. Houk is President and CEO of Information Systems Solutions, Inc. (ISS), which is an innovative information technology services and solutions provider to the Federal Government, with core competencies in systems integration, systems administration, secure network engineering, information assurance, cyber security, software development, training and project management. Under her leadership, for six consecutive years (2008-2013), ISS was identified by Inc. 5000 as one of the fastest growing privately held companies in the U.S. Additionally, in 2010 ISS was named the L-3 Stratis Small Business of the Year, Defense Sector and, in 2011 along with team partner General Dynamics Information Technology (GDIT), won the DoD CIO Award for mission support in the Afghanistan-Pakistan region.Furthermore, in 2017 GDIT named ISS their Quality Service Provider of the Year.

Ms. Houk was honored by the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce (Maryland) as their 2011 Small Business Leader of the Year. Additionally, from 2013 Ms. Houk has served on their Board of Directors, and since 2012 has served on the Montgomery County Chamber Community Foundation (MCCCF), whose main responsibility is overseeing the Veteran Institute for Procurement (VIP) training which is provided at no cost to our nation’s military veteran entrepreneurs. She is a graduate of their VIP GROW (2010) and VIP INTERNATIONAL (2017) programs and is an instructor for the VIP START program, providing advice through her participation on the CEO Lessons Learned panel. In addition to her involvement in the VIP program, Ms. Houk participated at the SBA’s 5th Annual Mentor Protégé Program (MPP) Conference as the Protégé of one of three Mentor/Protégé teams presenting the pros and cons of the SBA’s Mentor/Protégé arrangements.

Prior to joining ISS, Ms. Houk served 21 years as an Air Force officer where, as part of her accomplishments, she oversaw multiple contractors and organizations and coordinated with managers of other projects/programs and high-level air Force decision makers, including the Chief of Staff and Secretary of the Air Force. Ms. Houk also served on the Air Force Program Review Committee which reviews the Air Force budget submissions and establishes the annual Air Force Program Objective Memorandum (POM), which is submitted to the Office of the Secretary of Defense. Ms. Houk is a graduate of the Air Force Institute of Technology, with a Master of Science in Systems Management, and she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Economics from Miami University, Oxford, Ohio.
