Merrill Lynch Fires Top Advisor After He Unleashed Racist Tirade

Warning: Video Contains Strong Language

A Connecticut man who went on a rampage after his child had an allergic reaction to a smoothie her purchased has been arrested.

Police say 48-year-old James Iannazzo purchased the smoothie around 1pm on Saturday but shortly after placed a call to 911 after one of his children had an allergic reaction to peanuts which were reportedly in the smoothie.

Minutes after, Iannazzo returned to the Robeks smoothie location and blew his top. He demanded to know who had made the drink that allegedly lead to the allergic reaction, threw a drink at one employee and also questioned the immigration status of an employee.

Employees are heard telling Iannazzo that he didn't mention the peanut allergy, only that he requested that there not be any peanuts added to his drink order.

Iannazzo left before police arrived to the store, but he later turned himself in.

Merrill Lynch, Iannazzo's employer, quickly fired him after the original video, posted to TikTok, amassed over 2M views and Iannazzo was identified as the individual by social media.

"Our company does not tolerate behavior of this kind. We immediately investigated and have taken action. This individual is no longer employed at our firm," the company said in a statement.

Iannazzo was ranked in Forbes top 25 high net worth advisors in Connecticut last year.

He has been charged with intimidation based on bias, breach of peace and criminal trespass.
