As the world continues to deal with COVID, the latest variant has apparently caused some confusion.

The dominant strain of the virus is referred to as "omicron" but it seems a lot of people have been calling it "omarion."

You may remember a singer named Omarion who was part of the group B2K and had hits like "Uh Huh" and "Girlfriend" in the early 2000s.

He's now getting a bunch of attention because people are calling the COVID variant Omarion and not omicron and took to TikTok to make a statement:

"I know there has been a lot of confusion online recently, so my lawyers asked me to read this. I, Omarion, am a musician and entertainer — you knew that — not a variant, okay."

"The last time I had to do this was in 2000 when everyone confused Y2K with B2K. That ain’t how it’s supposed to be, but seriously, I want to wish you all a happy and safe new year’s. Peace."
