MD Governor Hogan Places First Legal Sports Bet in State, on the "Redskins"

The state of Maryland became the 11th state in the US to legalize sports betting, and to mark the occasion, Governor Larry Hogan placed the first legal bet.

Being that we're currently in the midst of the NFL season, Hogan chose to bet on football.

Holding up his slip, he announces, "This is the Washington Redskins to win the NFC. Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC. So an all Maryland Super Bowl in LA."

Except the Washington Redskins, at least the name, was dissolved in 2020.

At least in his defense, the Washington Football Team does have some sort of chance of winning the NFC conference this year.
