On Tuesday, the lawyer for the family of Brian Laundrie revealed that the cause of Brian's death was officially ruled as a suicide and that he died of a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head.
Last month, an initial autopsy on Laundrie's remains were found to be inconclusive. On October 21st, the FBI announced that the remains found the day prior were that of Brian.
On September 23rd, an arrest warrant was issued for Laundrie for unauthorized use of someone else's debit card. At the time, Laundrie was the only person of interest in the case of his fiance Gabby Petito, who was murdered by strangulation in Wyoming.
A search for Laundrie was conducted in early October in the Carlton Reserve and adjacent Myakkahatchee Creek Environmental Park in Florida, where Laundrie was supposedly last seen by his parents.
A video blogger, who ventured into the area of the park on October 9th, not far from where Laundrie's remains were eventually discovered, may have unknowingly recorded the sound of Laundrie's gunshot.
At approximately 15:56 in the video about, what sounds like a gunshot can be heard. "What the [expletive] was that?" someone says immediately after the noise and the vlogger responds by saying it sounded like a shotgun.
It's unclear exactly when Laundrie died, but there's a small chance based on the timeline of events that this person could have recorded the moment.
