Police Looking Into "Potential Connection" in Gabby Petito Case

Police are looking into a "potential connection" between the murder of two women and the disappearance of Gabby Petito.

Days after police pulled over Petito and her fiance Brian Laundrie in Moab, Utah, two women were found fatally shot and a campsite in the vicinity.

Six days after the bodycam footage of Petito and Laundrie was taken following a domestic dispute, the bodies of two newlyweds, Kylen Schulte and Crystal Turner were found at a campsite near Moab. They had both told friends they feared a "creepy man" they saw nearby and were afraid he wanted to hurt them.

Police have not ruled out a connection in the murders and the disappearance of Petito.

Joshua Taylor, a public information officer for the North Port police says, "They're looking into that potential connection. I have not heard of any information that links these two cases together. I understand the timing is suspicious. You never know. I'm not going to say we've ruled it out."

Police in North Port, Florida, where Petito and Laundrie lived, recently said that Laundrie is a "person of interest" in the case. He has not been charged, but police say he is not cooperating.
