Director and actor Robert Downey Sr., father of Robert Downey Jr., has died at the age of 85, according to multiple sources.

Downey Sr. has film credits across seven decades, from being a cinematographer on the 1953 short film The American Road, to as recently as an acting credit in 2011's Tower Heist. Perhaps his best know appearances an actor are the films Boogie Nights, Magnolia, and To Live and Let Die in L.A.
RDJ appeared in two films directed by his father: 1970's Pound and 1990's Too Much Sun.
