Commuters on the Outer Loop of the Capital Beltway got an early weekend present when a large tree was presumably knocked over by high winds, falling onto the roadway, and damaged at least one vehicle. The tree fell near the exit for Old Georgetown Road in Montgomery County, Maryland.
It's unknown at the time if there are any injuries.
Multiple cars appeared to be damaged and ambulances were seen at the site of the disaster, according to NBC Washington.
Crews arrived to the scene and were quickly able to remove the debris from the fallen tree.
Traffic delays resulted, leading traffic to be diverted to I-270.
The area is currently under a high wind warning.
